I made the soundtrack for the documentary Voksenbarn / Adult Child by director Hugo Francker, and it just won the Best Documentary Award at Odense International Film Festival.
Hugo made the documentary after a trip to the USA to visit their dad. I had knee surgery and couldn’t get out of my apartment, so after Hugo came back to Oslo, we sat in my apartment and edited the music during the winter of 2024. I remember we went to the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer to mix the film. I took the train, walking on crutches across the ice, and we slept on the fourth floor of a collective with students from the film school.
It has been exciting and an honor for me to join Hugo on their journey of making this documentary. I’m very happy and touched by the final result, and I hope it will inspire others to dare to take chances.
